My name is Angie Bishop and I founded Salient Consulting in 2016.
I left school at just 17 with very few educational qualifications and even less self-esteem and confidence. In my early twenties and with the backing of a couple of very supportive employer mentors who saw my potential, I was given the resources and encouragement to study part time whilst working.
I invested 10 years of my evenings & weekends and qualified both as an accountant and a Chartered Company Secretary (Risk & Governance Practitioner). I’m now studying (in my spare time!) for an ILM7 accreditation in coaching & mentoring so I can give back to society, with gratitude for the support I was given, part of the sustainable circular economy.
My working experience over the past 30 years has been in corporate, commercial & operational finance and the last 10 years as a Finance Director. In 2016, I set up my own professional services consulting business and now work as a Consultant, Director, Non-Executive Director, Business Coach & Mentor.
I’m passionate about enabling and empowering organisations and individuals to make positive change through challenging perspectives and mindsets, which is why I set up Salient Consultancy Ltd, as a vehicle to do just that. It often needs just a few salient points to set you off in the right direction with the confidence to do so, to achieve success.
Understanding purpose and value is the starting point. We use creative and solution - focused conversations to determine your goals, set actions to achieve them, and celebrate the successes.
